Hey people,
ESN VSB – TU Ostrava goes hiking again. This time we will conquer the Praděd (in English Great Grandfather) mountain which is the highest mountain of the Jeseníky mountain range. On top of the mountain there is a lookout tower. The top of the tower is the highest place in the Czech Republic and the lookout platform, which we are going to visit, is the second-highest place in the Czech Republic! Yeah :D. On top of the mountain, you can look forward to outstanding views, lunch, beer, and a local liquor Praděd.
For this trip, we have ordered a university bus that will take us comfortably from dormitories in Ostrava – Poruba directly under the mountain. Therefore, the capacity of the trip is limited. First, we are going to show you a popular spa town Karlova Studánka where you can try local spring water which has a unique taste. Then we are going to hike. Our hiking path leads in a beautiful environment along a river with many wooden bridges.
Please note that the difficulty of this hiking trip is high because we are going to walk 21 km during the whole day and on the top of the mountain there will be most probably some snow. Therefore, proper hiking shoes are highly recommended.
The fee for this trip covers transport by our university bus and entrance fee to the lookout platform. If you wouldn’t like to visit the lookout platform, we will buy you a beer or a coffee + a shot of the liquor Praděd instead.
